What's the difference between "Home State" and "Incorporation State"?

Understanding the difference between your incorporation state and your home state.

Your Home State (or Domicile State) is where your headquarters are located. This could be state where your Founder or CEO lives, or the state in which your main offices are located.

Your State of Incorporation (sometimes called State of Formation) is the state where you first incorporated or registered your business. Most start-up companies will incorporate in Delaware (State of Incorporation) but operate from the state in which their founder/CEO/officers live (Home State or Domicile State).
